Welcome to Buffalo, Missouri!
In 1833, Mark Reynolds became the first settler in Buffalo near the present junction of U.S. Highway 65 and Missouri Highway 32. Buffalo, founded in 1841, is located in Dallas County, which rests in the Southwest Missouri Ozarks. To the west are Pomme de Terre Lake and Stockton Lake and to the north are Truman Lake and the Lake of the Ozarks. Each of these lakes offer a great variety of recreational activities. Just 23 miles to the south is Springfield, Missouri's third-largest city, surpassed only by Kansas City and St. Louis.
